A lot of good beer has been produced over the last few months, and I mean a LOT! Breweries have seemingly channelled all their frustrations into creating amazing beers, and we have rabidly consumed them. So to all the breweries out there that kept us happily drinking during this time, we salute you!
Here’s some of the stand-out beers over the last few months:
Boombox: Hypebeast IPA
Was this a hype beer? Absolutely, I mean it’s right in the name!! Despite the fact that this beer was pretty much beer nerd bait, it was an awesome collaboration beer with DL Chicken and was juicy, hoppy and badass. Shame it sold out in a manner of minutes, but that is the nature of the hype.
Twin Sails: All Together IPA
A great initiative originally started in NY by the Other Half Brewery, brewers from all over North America brewed their versions of the “All Together” with proceeds supporting displaced hospitality workers. Not only was this a good cause, but a good beer.
House of Funk: Flora
Look at that beer! House of Funk really went out of their way to make something cool. A berliner weisse style sour beer, Flora was fermented with a mixed sour culture and conditioned on butterfly pea flower, chrysanthemum flower and chamomile.
Strange Fellows: Hedgerow
Strange Fellows is always good at giving us something rare and exceptional, Hedgerow is no exception. This sour cherry wild ale was the perfect remedy to not being able to be out and about to celebrate the cherry blossom season.
Another Beer Co: Fell On My Keys
There were a lot of lime sours this spring, but there was only one Key Lime Sherbet Sour. Crisp and very lime forward, this beer had a nice lacto finish that truly did make it feel like a scoop of key lime sherbet.
Four Winds: Pils Pack
I am done hearing anyone say that Pilsners are boring. That argument was already stale and Four Winds just put the final nail in the coffin. This pack included collaboration pilsners from breweries like Fernie, House of Funk, Dageraad and Superflux. Give me more!
Dageraad: Solo House Party
Speaking of Dageraad, they were off doing their own great work as usual, this time with a session IPA. Fermented with Hornindal kveik and hopped with Citra, Motueka, and Amarillo, Solo House party was the vibes we were all feeling at one point or another.
That’s just a few of the many, many beers that have come out, and I’m sure there will be more coming to justify a followup to this post. What have been your favourites? Comment bellow!
