The 22nd annual Hopscotch Festival is returning to Vancouver to entice drinkers with a full roster of whiskey, beer and spirits.
This year the festival runs for a full seven days and nights between Monday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, November 26. While the main festival runs on November 24-25 at the PNE Forum, new this year are a number of satellite events that should be an interesting change.
In fact, organizers have taken a number of suggestions and implemented some big changes. Not only are ticket prices lowered (starting at $22), but they’ve increased the number of food & beverage vendors and created a more intuitive floor plan that groups together the different types of alcohol available.
The BC Craft Pavilion, Beers From Around The World, Whisky Corner, The Rose Garden (wine), Spirits Of The Globe and Craft Cocktails are some of the different areas within the hall this year. In total there are over 130 booths with over 400 products on display; this includes 120 different types of whiskey!

Whiskey 101- November 20
Salty Tongue Cafe, $79
This event focuses on understanding the differences between the main types of whisky (Rye, Bourbon, Irish, Scotch Single Malt, Scotch Blend and other types…) as well as some ideas on how best to appreciate and serve them.
CENTRAL CITY WHISKY + BEER DINNER- November 21 (SOLD OUT)
Central City Pub, $60
Enjoy a custom paired tasty menu designed by the champion culinary team along with Red Racer craft beers, Queensborough Dry Gin and three expressions of their Lohin McKinnon whiskies.
MASTERS OF WHISKY- November 22
Salty Tongue Cafe, $140
Attendees taste some of the world’s best whisky and offers attendees, the true whisky connoisseur, to taste and learn about some of the finest and rarer drams available in BC.
THE BALVENIE DINNER- November 22

Join Glenfiddich’s National Ambassador Beth Havers at Hook Seabar for a delightful 4-course pairing of their delicious food and the iconic Glenfiddich whiskies.
THE GREAT WHISKY SMOKE- November 25
The Whisky Experience Tent, $115
A three-hours all inclusive tasting of whisky, craft beer, cigars, food and live music. The Great Whisky Smoke allows guests to enjoy several different types of Scotch Whisky, Craft Beers and a delicious cigar, or two. Once the event finishes, guests are escorted through the backdoor of the Grand Tasting Hall for first, no-line access to Saturday Night’s Grand Tasting Hall.
