BC Beer Awards 2017 Preview

The 8th Annual BC Beer Awards & Festival is set to return to Vancouver on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 from 4 – 10pm at the Croatian Cultural Centre. The signature consumer tasting event of BC Craft Beer Month, this festival celebrates the very best in craft brewing from across the province and hosts over 65 BC breweries.

This year’s format will be slightly different; past year’s had the awards and the tasting festival run simultaneously, which as the awards grew in size and complexity, made for a complicated process. To rectify this, the awards will now feature two different ticket styles.

The VIP Awards Hour ticket grants early entry at 4pm and live viewing of the awards ceremony hosted by CBC’s Stephen Quinn. These tickets will be for industry folks and a limited number available  to the public.

The General Admission ticket, which runs 5 – 10pm does not include the live awards ceremony viewing and still offers a full 5 hours of festival as before.

Every year the awards feature a specific ale style (last year was mild ales, with low ABV). This year they want breweries to SMaSH it out of the park, by showcasing how a single malt and single hop can really make a beer shine!

Over 30 categories of beer will be awarded at the event, which also includes food trucks and community booths; once the awards ceremony is over, guests will enjoy live music by Paul Filek in the second ballroom.

Tickets are on sale now, and they do sell out fast!
