As if there wasn’t already enough reason to spend the day in East Van touring breweries, thanks to six breweries and one distillery you can now earn prizes too.
On Friday, February 24, the East Village Brewery & Distillery Passport will be available at any one of the participating locations: Storm Brewing, Parallel 49, Powell Street, Doan’s, Callister, Bomber and Odd Society Spirits.
Participants are encouraged to approach the tour at their own pace, either checking-in at all seven stops in one day or adopting a more leisurely attitude visiting each destination over time. Once all seven stamps are collected, they will be awarded with an East Village branded growler to add to their collection.
The East Village Passport was created in partnership with The Hastings North Business Improvement Association to promote the area as a destination for craft beer and spirit lovers.
I for one think this is a great idea. Each of the seven participating locations are within walking/biking distance of one another, I’d suggest starting at Parallel 49 (furthest east) and finishing with Bomber, or vice versa. Or, if seven in one day seems like a challenge, which is fair considering most of my recommended beer tours are four or five and even that can be a task, there’s no harm splitting up the visits.
