5 Award-Worthy Cocktails For Your Oscar Party

Oscar season is upon us and the big night will bring out all the stars; some celebrating their wins, others trying to forget their losses. If you’re looking to host an award winning Oscar party worth it’s weight in gold, then look no further than these five cocktails that will be sure to have your guests drinking like the stars.

Gold Dust

  • 1 1/2 oz. Casamigos Reposado Tequila
  • 1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • 3/4 oz. Clove Simple Syrup*
  • 1/2 oz. Ginger Syrup (Or Ginger Liqueur)
  • Club Soda

(*Clove Simple Syrup: Boil one part water with one part Demerara Sugar. After the syrup is made, add 6-8 cloves into the pot and steep on low heat for an hour. Remove cloves.)

Combine first four ingredients with ice. Shake and strain into a Collins glass. Top with club soda and garnish with candied ginger.

Red Lion

  • 1 oz. Grand Marnier
  • 1 oz. London Dry Gin
  • 3/4 oz. Orange Juice
  • 3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
  • Splash of Pomegranate Syrup

A drink well worth discovery, and a fun play on the award-nominated Lion. Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker, shake with ice and strain.

The Aviation

  • 1 1/2 oz Aviation American Gin
  • 1 tsp Crème De Violette
  • 1/2 oz Maraschino Liqueur
  • 3/4 oz Freshly pressed lemon juice
  • 1/4 oz Simple syrup

The brilliant blue hue of this cocktail compliments Moonlight. In a pint glass, add spirits & mixers fill with ice & shake vigorously. Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with a cherry on a pick.

Call Me Honey

  • 2.5 oz. Wyborowa Wódka
  • 1/2 oz. Earl Grey honey syrup*
  • 3 – 4 drops of your favourite floral water (Lavender, Orange Blossom, or Rose)
  • Lemon oil/zest for garnish

(*Honey and Earl Grey Syrup: Take 1 cup of hot water and steep 2-4 earl grey tea bags in a bowl for a few minutes. Add 3/4 cup of honey, and stir. Remove tea bags and cool.)

Add all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice and stir for 30 seconds. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with lemon zest and place in glass.

Rosemary Salty Dog

  • 1 1/2 oz. No. 209 Gin
  • 3 oz. Grapefruit Juice
  • 1/4 oz. Kosher Salt
  • Garnish Rosemary Sprig

Shake gin and grapefruit juice over ice. Rim rocks glass with kosher salt. Strain cocktail into a rocks glass. Garnish with rosemary sprig.
