If the last week has been any indication, this summer is going to be a scorcher! Naturally, breweries are responding to the hotter weather with increasingly drinkable brews, with low IBU and ABV. While most have gone the route of a Radler or a Saison, Steamworks has just announced the release of their new Tropical Tart Ale. This sessionable summer sipper features Pomegranate and Passionfruit, topped off with Steamworks recent Kettle Sour to create a refreshing new take on the perfect patio beer.
The new tart ale pours a beautiful deep hued gold, and leads with intense tropical fruit aromas. Flavours of Passion Fruit and Pomegranate are balanced and there is a clear distinction of the Kettle Sour base, which makes this a unique combination. It is simultaneously thirst quenching and refreshingly dry.
The Tropical Tart Ale comes in a Tall-Can 4-pack and will be available at liquor stores and bars throughout BC next week. For those who want to get their hands on it now, it is now available for sale and on-tap exclusively at the Steamworks Brewery & Taproom at 3845 William St in Burnaby.
I’d definitely recommend checking this one out. It offers a great balance of flavour and creativity, and if you enjoyed Steamworks’ Kettle Sour then this is a next step evolution that shouldn’t be missed.
I quite enjoyed this beer. I can see more in my future.
